2020 is a difficult year. Many of us have experienced the COVID-19 pandemic immensely and it is still hard to imagine what will happen when we can finally say “this is behind us”. On the other hand, we want to be optimistic about the future. And that is why events such as the next edition of The Best Chef Awards have to take place – even if we are thousands of kilometers apart and only (and as much as!) a computer screen connects us.
Although we followed the results in each of the eight categories and the basic ranking of the 100 best chefs with bated breath, we were especially excited when the time came to announce the winner of the Food Art category. The prize went to Alex Dilling. Much can be written about his journey, experiences and cooperation with the most eminent figures in the catering industry. Currently he is the creator of the menu for London’s The Greenhouse – his work is characterized by the greatest precision, meticulousness and respect for seasonal products. We invite you to check out his Instagram account, the compositions presented there are the best justification for the jury’s verdict.
The title of The Best Chef 2021 went to René Redzepi from the iconic Noma restaurant in Copenhagen. Björn Frantzen (Sweden) – last year’s winner – and Dan Barber (USA) took second and third place. Congratulations!
